Satan’s Tricks and Deception

Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour. Resist him, strong in your faith (faithfulness??), because you know that your brothers and sisters throughout the world are enduring the same kinds of suffering. And, after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace (kindness or divine influenc??) who called you to his eternal glory in Christ will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him belongs the power forever. Amen.

Please look up and read the complete context, or thought, of each of these immune building verses. Do we meet the requirements? Are we wise or foolish?

Eph_6:11 Clothe yourselves with the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

Eph_6:13 For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.

Eph_6:14 Stand firm therefore, by fastening the belt of truth around your waist, by putting on the breastplate of righteousness,

Php_4:1 So then, my brothers and sisters, dear friends whom I long to see, my joy and crown, stand in the Lord in this way, my dear friends!

Col_4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you and a slave of Christ, greets you. He is always struggling in prayer on your behalf, so that you may stand mature and fully assured in all the will of God.

1Th_3:8 For now we are alive again, if you stand firm in the Lord.

What are Satan’s tactics that you have seen or experienced?

Personal experiences….

I see Satan wanting me to take my eyes off of the faithfulness of God and His Son Jesus, to question and doubt.

He wants me to be taken up with the darkness of life... self, problems, failures, success, etc.

He wants me not to be in and know the Light, trust the Words or Commandments of God, to not understand (be in darkness regarding the Spirit of His Word).

I feel as if he tricks me into concentrating on the storm intstead of keeping my eyes on Jesus. I sink emotionally whenever I begin to dwell on the things going on that are very twisted right now...like Peter in the waves.
